Strategic Conquest
the desired destination. The piece will then move toward this destination every day
until it has reached its destination. A Manual move is accomplished by simply moving the cursor over a sector
adjacent to the current active piece and clicking in that sector. The piece will then move into that sector. For
Automatic move descriptions, please refer to the section on the Moves menu.
Attack and Defense
Attack on a piece is accomplished by moving a piece adjacent to the piece which you wish to attack, and manually
moving the attacking piece onto the sector in which the piece to be attacked is located. More simply stated, move
the attacking piece next to the piece which you desire to attack, and click on the piece which you desire to
attack. Defense is the opposite of attack and may be considered as a passive but effective tactic. Generally, a
piece which is defending will have a very slight advantage over the piece which is attacking it. The exception to
this is a ship which is in port, which will defend at a major disadvantage.
Connectin9 Two Computers
In order to play a two player AppleTalk game, the computers must be properly connected. This can be accomplished in
a few ways. The first is to have both machines connected to a network. The second way is to connect both machines
with an ImageWriter II printer cable, through their printer ports. AppleTalk must be activated in both of the
computers from which the game will be played to use either of these methods.
Starting a two player/two computer game is similar to starting a one player game, except that each player must
choose whether he will be the AppleTalk Master or AppleTalk Slave on the network. There must be a Slave for each
Master. If the game is to be played on a busy network, a network I.D. code should be chosen to reduce any chance of
unwanted interference. If more than one game is to be played on the same network, then it is a must to select
unique network identification codes for each game being played.
